The Indian education system comprises of primary education, secondary & higher secondary education, and higher education. Undergraduate programs require passing an examination that is equivalent to a standard 12 years of schooling, offered in India. However, for a Diploma program you must have completed 10 years of schooling. You must have adequate proficiency in English to comprehend and cope with the curriculum.
Indian academic institutions do not insist on any of these examinations; however an adequate proficiency in English is necessary to fulfill the academic requirements.
In general, the academic year begins in July; however some institutions commence their academic year in August.
