Fashion is a way of expressing oneself through carefully selected threads that cover our skin projecting out our inner thoughts and expressing our feelings. Cloths are the art and the way one is dressed up - is the style. Actually people love art, it is the need of today’s global era hence establishment of School of Fashion Technology (SOFT) by MKSSS, Pune.

SOFT, an extremely well developed School of Fashion Technology provides scientific training in various aspects of fashion design and technology. Established in 1998, the school has created its presence on national and international fashion scene.

The School of Fashion Technology (SOFT) was established in 1998 under the aegis of 114 year old Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha (MKSSS), Pune, India in collaboration with National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India. The NIFT wing of the School conducts one under graduate and three post graduate courses. These courses are in areas like Apparel Production and Merchandising, Fashion Design and Clothing Technology and Computer Aided Textile Design.

School of Fashion Technology has a pool of fashion experts as faculty and advisors. SOFT has set an academic standard and excelled in thought leadership by providing a consortium of creative genius and technically competent professionals. The Institute provides an equal platform for fashion education. It has strong industry links and excellent placements. Its students have won prestigious awards in national and international competitions. SOFT organizes fashion shows to exhibit talents of students and attract eminent people from fashion industry.

SOFT aims at establishing the benchmark for the quality of professionals that go into the fashion industry. Soft provides residential accommodation for girls coming from all states of India. Adequate hostel facilities are available within the campus. All the hostel premises including the ones being run by hiring private hostels are provided with round the clock professional security, a doctor on call and hostel wardens. Recreation facilities like T.V., magazines, some indoor and outdoor games are also available at the hostels

The Institute houses spacious conference/seminar halls that serve as perfect meeting grounds for presentations, interaction and discussions.

Medical aid is provided in the campus. A doctor and nurse are available to take care of general and specific ailments. A psychologist is also available in the campus to counsel the students.

School of Fashion Technology has excellent cell for training and placement for the students. A good percentage of students secure jobs in many of the leading industries in India.
